Cubox Privacy Policy

Cubox respects and protects the personal privacy of all users who use the service. To provide you with more accurate and personalized services, Cubox will use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Policy. However, Cubox will treat this information with a high degree of diligence and prudence. Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, Cubox will not disclose or provide this information to third parties without your prior permission.

Cubox will update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When you register, log in, and use the Cubox service, you are deemed to have agreed to the entire content of this Privacy Policy. This privacy policy is an integral part of the Cubox service usage agreement.

Information Security and Information Use

Cubox does not provide any social functions, and your account information and bookmark data will only be visible to you unless you actively share it with Cubox's sharing function. Cubox will not provide, sell, rent, share or trade your personal information to any unrelated third party without your prior permission. Cubox does not allow any unrelated third parties to collect, edit, sell or disseminate your personal information by any means. If any Cubox platform user engages in the above activities, once found, Cubox has the right to terminate the service agreement with the user immediately.

The Cubox browser extension needs to submit the web Urls you visit to display your saving status or restore annotations. You can enable or disable the "Show Saved Mark" and "Show Highlights" features in the extension's menu or settings as needed. Once you grant permission, the Cubox browser extension will securely transmit the web addresses you browse to our servers to accurately restore your saving and annotation statuses.

To protect your privacy and browsing habits, we process these web addresses using SHA-256 hashing. Cubox does not store, and will never store, any unrelated browsing history of users, either locally or on our servers. The relevant API for checking whether it has been saved or annotated does not and will never save any request logs.

Cubox may open APIs to some third-party developers to provide richer application options and experiences. Before engaging any service provider or working with any partner, we carry out a rigorous review process. All of our service providers and partners must agree to strict confidentiality obligations. However, any third party will not obtain any of your personal data without you downloading and logging into the third-party client.

Starting from version 4.0, Cubox provides statistics and displays functions of personal behavior data, providing users with insights into personal behavior. All statistical data are only visible to users and obtained from real-time queries. Cubox will not store any statistical data on the server or share these data with any party.

Cubox registered users can request to delete the personal Cubox account and all the data under the account at any time by sending an email named "Delete Account" to hi@cubox.cc.

Mobile platforms have permission systems for certain types of device data and notifications, such as push notifications, and you can change settings on your device to consent or refuse the collection of information or the display of notifications. Of course, if you do this, you may not be able to enjoy all the features of some services.

We strive to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Like all technology companies, while we take steps to protect your information, we cannot guarantee, and you cannot expect, that your personal information will always be secure. We regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks and regularly review our information collection, storage, and processing practices to update our physical, technical, and organizational security measures.

If we suspect or discover any breach of security, we may suspend your right to use all or part of the Services without notice. If you believe your account or information is no longer secure, please notify us immediately.

Information Retention

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary for legitimate business purposes and as permitted by applicable law. To protect the safety of our users on and off the Service, we enforce a three-month security retention window after account deletion. During this time, account information will be retained, but of course, the account will no longer appear in the service.
